2017 Adelaide Perry Prize for Drawing Finalists Announced

In its twelfth year, PLC Sydney’s Adelaide Perry Prize for Drawing received over 500 entries from artists across Australia. Judge for 2017, artist and architect Professor Richard Goodwin of UNSW’s School of Art and School of Design Studies, visited the Gallery in January to select the shortlist of this year’s finalists.

Doye, David Fairbairn, Garry Foye, Carrie Fraser, Todd Fuller, Tarli Glover, Jody Graham, Jane Grealy, Nicholas Hall, Geoff Harvey, Pei Pei He, Kendal Heyes, Judy Holding, Graham Kuo, Yvonne Langshaw, Adrian Lockhart, Lily Mae Martin, Catherine O’Donnell, Andy Quilty, Lyn Raymer, Melinda Schawel, Brenton Schwab, Robyn Shaw, Jeannette Siebols, Donna Smullen, Laura Stark, Sweet + Shore, Claire Tozer, Teo Treloar, Anastasia Wiltshire, India Zegan.

Prior to the finalists’ exhibition event, Professor Goodwin returns to Adelaide Perry Gallery to view the selection once more and decide upon the winner of the $25 000 acquisitive award.  

Professor Goodwin will announce this year’s winner at the Gallery during the official opening of the 2017 Adelaide Perry Prize Exhibition, Friday 24 February at 7.00 pm. All welcome.

The Adelaide Perry Prize for Drawing 2017 continues 25 February – 24 March at PLC Sydney’s Adelaide Perry Gallery, Corner Hennessy and College Streets, Croydon. The Gallery is open 8.30 am – 4.00 pm weekdays and 11.00 am – 4.00 pm Saturdays.

At the close of the exhibition, a people’s choice award of $2000 will be awarded to the finalist’s work voted favourite by Gallery visitors. Voting slips are available at the Gallery.
