Studying in the UK

overview

Information for study in the UK

Nearly all Universities in the UK accept and convert the ATAR and HSC results to determine entry. Particular courses in different universities may have prerequisites and selection criteria in addition to a straight conversion.

Applications are made through the admissions centre www.ucas.org.uk . All applications must also be made directly to the university of choice via application forms on individual university websites. A student can apply for 6 choices.  The following universities are considered in the top 20 in UK and are used as examples to show the Australian International Equivalent ATAR Rank for entry.

If applying for Oxford or Cambridge universities, a choice has to be made between the two as it is not possible to apply for both. Students still need to apply through UCAS but only 4 choices are allowed.  Separate applications to these universities are also required. University places at Cambridge and Oxford are extremely competitive
