All of the courses start at 1.00 pm and finish at 4.00 pm. The first Saturday of term will include an orientation for students and their parents, which will provide a chance for parents to meet with teachers.

In Term 4, we are pleased to offer the following package:

  • Kindergarten/Year 1:Two courses: Needs of Living Things and Teamwork

Courses are offered as a package, with two courses in each package, meaning all students enrolled will do both courses. NOTE: One Package not allowed.

Each class integrates hands-on activities around an interesting and exciting central theme.  This term students will learn about:

NEEDS OF LIVING THINGS - angela sainsbury

All living things have basic needs for their survival. Students may have prior knowledge of caring for a younger sibling, an animal or plants. They will know what it is like to feel hungry, thirsty and tired. They may not identify air as a basic need until guided to do so.

This unit aims to bring student prior knowledge to a conscious level, making explicit all the basic needs of living things. Students will investigate the needs of household pets, non-domestic animals, plants, and humans through investigation, predictions and critically analysing information.

Students will engage in hands on activities such as planting seeds and observing their growth

TEAMWORK - Angela Sainsbury

This course will focus on collaborative learning. Students will work together to reach a common goal. All activities in this course will be completed in groups of two or more where the students will come together to solve problems and complete tasks and projects.

This will encourage children to develop their confidence and social skills as well the ability to think independently, strong values as well as teamwork, leadership and skills which make us think differently. Activities will include problem solving challenges, puzzles, physical games and design/building/craft activities (involving the use of recycled/found materials).
