The PLC Sydney Futures Extension Centre was founded in 1989 and offers one of the longest running extension and enrichment programs for children in Australia. It was originally based on Dr Dorothy Sisk’s work with gifted and talented children in the United States. However, since 2003 The Centre has grown and now caters for children of all abilities.
The Centre aims to establish a learning community that is enriching and responsive to individual student needs. At the Extension Centre, we recognise that each student is at a particular stage of his/her learning. We seek to develop a positive, growth mindset in students so that they can become confident, independent, lifelong learners.
The Centre offers tuition to students from many schools at all levels who seek academic support whether it be in remediation, consolidation or extension. Our tutors are carefully selected and well qualified in diverse subjects at all levels. We offer high quality one-to-one tutoring that is focused on the individual needs of each student.
The Centre currently offers:
- Testing and Assessment
- After School Courses
- Saturday Courses for Gifted and Talented students
- UMAT (Undergraduate Medical Admission Test) Preparation Courses
The Extension Centre will develop in significance in the years ahead as it supports our global programs. New projects will include:
- Tutoring in A-Level subjects
- Career Development
