Senior School Competitive Sport
Competitive sport is available and encouraged to all Senior School students.
Year 7 students are encouraged to participate in all sporting teams.
Year 8 students are required to participate in at least one term of sport.
PLC Sydney generally participates in the Independent Girls’ Schools’ Sports Association (IGSSA). IGSSA offers both Saturday sport competition as well as carnivals. The IGSSA graded sport competition is played on Saturdays during term time at members’ schools and public venues throughout Sydney. It is divided into Year 7, Junior (Years 8 and 9), and Senior (Years 10, 11 and 12) divisions.
Representative opportunities exist through the IGSSA and New South Wales Combined Independent Schools (NSWCIS) pathways.
For the full range of competitive sports played at PLC Sydney, please visit our Sport microsite.
Attendance at all training sessions and games is compulsory once a student has registered for a sport.
If a student is unable to attend due to injury or illness, please click here to refer to Saturday Sport Absence Notifications.
If there is a clash of co-curricular activities, please communicate this with the coordinator of each activity and the Director of Co-Curricular Activities. An alternative training/rehearsal time will be made.
Students interested in participating in a sport must register online within the first two weeks of the previous term. This can be done by visiting the portal, PLACES and clicking on the SPORTS tile.
