Sports Success

Update from Winter School

Both the snowboarders and skiers have been extremely busy competing in National events over the last few weeks. Stephanie Dahan (Year 10) completed three stages of the Australian Junior Series for snowboarding and was placed 2nd overall at the end of the event. Year 8 student Sabrina Howell has performed extremely well in Cross Country skiing placing 1st overall in the Australian Biathlon Championships in Hotham and Giorgia Watts (Year 8) is currently ranked 3rd overall in the Thredbo Freeride (Extreme Skiing) event.

News just in... PLC Sydney has been named the Cross Country Champions for 2012! Lucy Glanville (Year 11) and Sabrina Howell (Year 8) were both named individual State Champions. Congratulations to all of the girls.

 

88th IGSSA Athletics Championships

The 2011 PLC Sydney IGSSA Athletics team finished 4th at the 88th annual carnival. A solid result for the team led ably by our Captains, Jody Potter and Catherine Ebeling (Year 12). Outstanding achievements were Larissa O'Dea (Year 9) Intermediate Discus 1st; Eden Wallis (Year 7) 13yrs 100m 1st; Clementine Landels (Year 7) 12yrs Hurdles 1st; and Marnie Clarkson (Year 7) 12yrs 100m 1st and Junior High Jump equal 1st. Marnie Clarkson also finished equal 3rd in the Junior overall category. Congratulations to all girls involved; they represented the College outstandingly.
